Simple terms for a simple tutoring service.
This page explains how bookings, cancellations, payments and personal information are handled.
Booking and delivery
Tutoring sessions are delivered online using Microsoft Teams. A free introductory call can be booked through the Cal.com link on this website. Paid sessions are arranged directly after a call or email enquiry.
Payment
For paid sessions, the payment method and timing will be confirmed by email when the session is arranged. This website does not currently collect or store card details.
Cancellation and rescheduling
You can cancel or reschedule a paid session without charge if you give at least 24 hours' notice. Cancellations or rescheduling requests made within 24 hours of the session may be charged in full. If I need to cancel a session, you will not be charged and we can rearrange it.
Privacy
If you contact me, I may receive information such as your name, email address, exam subject and anything you choose to tell me about your tutoring needs. I use that information to respond to enquiries, arrange sessions, provide tutoring and keep basic records relating to the service.
The usual basis for using this information is taking steps at your request before providing tutoring, performing the tutoring arrangement once agreed, and my legitimate interest in keeping proportionate administrative records. I do not sell your information or use it for unrelated marketing.
I keep personal information only for as long as it is reasonably needed for tutoring, administration and any applicable record-keeping requirements. You can ask what information I hold about you, request corrections or deletion where applicable, or raise a privacy question by emailing hello@actuarialexamtutor.co.uk.
Third-party services
The website links to Cal.com for introductory-call bookings and sessions are delivered through Microsoft Teams. Information you provide directly to those services is also handled under their own privacy terms.
Cookies and analytics
This version of the website does not use advertising cookies or website analytics. If that changes, this notice will be updated before those tools are introduced.
Revision planners
The free CM1, CS1 and CB1 planners are independent revision tools and are not official IFoA or ActEd material. Exam syllabuses, formats and guidance can change, so students should check the latest official information when planning their study.
