I’m a qualified actuary and actuarial manager offering 1-to-1 tutoring for CM1, CS1 and CB1.
Why I started tutoring
I completed the IFoA exams relatively recently, so I still remember what the process is actually like: a large syllabus, difficult topics and the constant question of whether you are using your revision time well.
One of the biggest challenges for me was not simply learning more material. It was knowing what I understood well enough, what genuinely needed more work and when it was time to stop reading notes and start doing questions.
That is the kind of support I want tutoring to provide. Sessions are not designed to replace your own study. They are there to make that study more effective, whether that means getting unstuck on a difficult topic, working through questions together or deciding where to focus next.
Qualified, working in the profession and close to the exam process.
I work full time as an actuarial manager, with experience across pricing, asset-liability management and with-profits work.
I also hold a first-class integrated Master’s degree in Mathematics and Statistics. I passed every IFoA professional exam first time.

Recent experience of the IFoA exams.
I completed the IFoA exams recently and passed each one first time. For the three subjects I currently tutor, my results were CM1 91, CS1 88 and CB1 89.
I include those results simply as background on my familiarity with the subjects. My tutoring is about finding an approach that works for you, rather than trying to reproduce how I studied.
